Last Last weekend....

This past weekend, there was no air conditioning, but there were good times....
  • Friday evening, fab 'cellista Amy Gillingham and I played at the inCREDible Laurel Court for the College Hill Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation fundraiser. Due to a tree felled on Belmont Ave. during the previous evening's weather event, there was no electricity at Laurel Court- and yet, the event still had plenty of attendees, and it was hot, but not awful. We played unplugged, and the crowd was delightful.
  • Saturday evening, I was booked to play Spanish guitar "poolside" at Cincinnati Country Club- in a matador costume, no less- for a Tequila tasting. The horror! The costume was black heavy felt! The relief- "Poolside" was in the poolhouse bar- screened in, and not air conditioned, but not in the sun, either.... Relief #2... The very reasonable fellow from the club was fine with me wearing the vest, but passing on the jacket. Again, the crowd was very nice.
  • Sunday morning- Madeira-Silverwood Presbyterian Church is air conditioned, but they're renovating the Sanctuary, and everything's torn up- there's no power around the Altar, and the A.C. is on hiatus.
